PreSend Privacy Policy

1. Overview

PreSend is a browser extension that helps users identify potentially sensitive information before submitting content to supported AI chat services.

2. Local processing

Text entered into supported AI chat interfaces is processed locally in the browser. Supported files may also be inspected locally for sensitive information.

Deterministic detection and semantic machine-learning inference both run locally. PreSend does not send prompts or detected passages to the developer or to any PreSend-operated server.

3. Data collection

PreSend does not collect or transmit user content to the developer.

PreSend does not collect:

• prompts or chat messages
• detected sensitive passages
• uploaded file contents
• credentials
• browsing history
• analytics or telemetry
• location
• account information

4. Local storage

PreSend may store user settings, protection preferences, local feedback decisions, local allowlist information, and optional local history when that feature is enabled. This information remains in browser extension storage on the user's device or browser profile.

5. Feedback

Feedback choices such as Correct, Not Sensitive, and Wrong Category are processed and stored locally only. No feedback is transmitted to PreSend or the developer.

6. Network behavior

PreSend does not operate a backend for scanning, inference, telemetry, or feedback. It does not use cloud AI inference.

When a user chooses to send a message, the destination AI service handles that message under its own privacy policy and terms. PreSend does not control the browser's or destination service's network behavior.

7. Permissions

Used for local settings, preferences, feedback decisions, allowlisting, and optional local history.

Used only on supported AI chat websites so PreSend can detect message composers, inspect content locally before submission, and show warnings.

8. Third-party AI services

PreSend operates on supported AI chat websites, but those services are independent third parties. Once a user chooses to send content, the AI service's own privacy policy and terms apply.

9. Changes

This privacy policy may be updated if PreSend's behavior changes. The effective date above will be revised when the policy is updated.
