Cyber Opportunity Finder
Finding useful product questions in recurring security pain points.
A local research system intended to collect public cybersecurity practitioner and company pain points, preserve their context, and surface recurring workflow or product opportunities. The project is in research and planning; the described pipeline is an intended design.
What keeps getting in the way?
Public discussions contain practical accounts of repetitive tasks, awkward handoffs, and gaps between security tools. The goal is to explore recurring problems without treating a single complaint as proof of a product opportunity.
From public observation to a better question.
- Collect relevant public sources and their context
- Normalize observations while preserving attribution
- Explore related themes using local embeddings
- Review recurring pain points and counterexamples
- Form questions for further product research
Local analysis, traceable sources.
Python, PostgreSQL, pgvector, Ollama, and local embeddings are candidate technologies for this project. Asterisks in the stack mark planned choices, not deployed components. Collection, clustering, and opportunity discovery remain intended capabilities.
A signal is a starting point.
Any surfaced theme should remain connected to its source and be evaluated by a person. Repetition alone does not establish severity, willingness to pay, or a validated opportunity. Those questions need further research.
